“And So We Pray.”

Because that’s what we do. That’s what we (I) should do, more often. That’s what we do when someone is sick. When we’re afraid. When we have absolutely no control over the outcome. We take a deep breath, and we pray.

Sometimes, like right about now, I don’t know what to pray for. I started with healing. I prayed you would heal – you would get better. We all want you to get better. And then I prayed for peace.

You’ve never know worry all that intimately. Anxiety has always come with an on and off switch for you and you can’t comprehend why anybody would ever switch it on. For that, I’m thankful.

But right now, I hope you know that if for the first time in your life you don’t have that switch, it’s okay. You’re allowed to be afraid. You’re allowed to be angry and upset and you’re allowed to dream about having more time. Heaven knows we’re all dreaming about more time.

So if you feel like being angry, I’ll be angry with you. And if you feel like being afraid, I’ll be afraid with you. But most of all, if it’s of any comfort, know that I’ve been praying – I will keep praying – for peace.
